Pandas Food Web
The Giant Pandas can be found in the Southwest China provinces. Panda bears are peaceful creatures that spend their days in their homeland eating bamboo. They can be found in the temperate forest of the upper Yangtze. The Pandas ecosystem consists of temperate broad lead and mixed forest. They share the forest with many other animals that inhabit the region, such as leopards, red pandas, golden monkey and also many people who have lived there for thousands of years. The pandas surrounding must consist lots of bamboos to feed on, bushes for shelter and water to drink. The Pandas ecosystem is threatened by illegal logging and land clearing practices.
In the food web, energy is transferred from one living organism through another in the form of food. The Pandas food wed is divided into three sections, primary producers, primary consumers, secondary consumers and decomposers- all part of the food chain. Photosynthesis is the beginnings of the food web it produces the energy to help plants grow, which are the primary producers. The Panda comes under the secondary consumer, as it uses photosynthesis to produce its food – Bamboo. Cubs become a prey to other animals such as Leopards and tigers, which are known as the primary consumer. However adults intimidate other predators because of their great size. Decomposers such as worms, mushrooms, flies and maggots break down dead plants and animals.
All types have a special relationship with the others. Each particular species grow in obligate association with one other particular species, upon which other species depend on also. The Pandas role in the ecosystem is to distribute seeds thought the area, in away both species depend on each other to grow. Pandas reproduce more Pandas, which is helpful in every way to the environment.
